Highlights
● This study demonstrates the value of a simulation-based practice model for training anesthesiology residents in ultrasound-guided transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block.
● The simulation-based practice model integrates training and hands-on practice of both ultrasound techniques and TAP block procedures using simulators and real patients, enabling residents to practice repeatedly and achieve proficiency in the relevant theoretical knowledge and technical skills prior to clinical application.
